Expedia has done an exceptional job of implementing a solid, robust code base to interact with screen reading technologies… allowing us to book flights and hotels regardless of disabilities.
In a highly competitive tourism landscape, connecting local hosts (and as such their local experiences) to travelers from around the world is a formidable challenge for small to medium sized enterprises. Leveraging on Expedia’s platform however has helped us to bring the two worlds closer together, thus, allowing us to focus on continuing to deliver great local experiences to travelers from the world over!
We not only partner with Expedia Group to connect our guest from around the world to unique ports of call but we also craft one of a kind experiences to exclusive destinations such as Perfect Day at CoCo Cay for our guests to enjoy unique cruise adventures and experiences within. This private island destination in the Bahamas has brought increased tourism to the area, creating jobs and security for the Bahamian people, their families and the overall community. We strive to create the best experiences for our traveling guests and make the places we visit more sustainable too!
At Expedia Group’s partners conference, thousands of attendees donned vivid, handmade lanyards from the Suku Laut women of Berakit and Kawal in Bintan Island, Indonesia. These lanyards were not just a vibrant means to display our names and companies, they were a critical display of Expedia Group’s commitment to bringing the world within reach by supporting local economies around the globe. Working with Island Foundation of Singapore, each handwoven lanyard supported the charity’s education and literacy program, lifting the next generation.

How Our Employees Foster Inclusion Across the Globe
Smart, successful global teams understand that differing opinions ignite innovation and are crucial part of high performance. With diverse perspectives and interpretations on a problem, teams can discover multiple resolutions.
Through volunteering on Diversity & Inclusion initiatives I was able to share my own very positive experiences of coaching as well as taking extended paternity leave. It has been hugely rewarding for me to see some folks taking on a coach with positive results as well as helping to dispel some of the perceived barriers to taking extended paternity leave.
It’s nice that Expedia Group continues to embrace diversity and inclusion by executing strategies in support. Not only is it an important aspect in everyday life, it starts with the workplace. We have been provided with a platform to collaborate and brainstorm with other team members across the globe and develop new friendships while ultimately helping to make a positive difference.
Inclusion in the workplace is among the most relevant conversations of our generation, a conversation that is especially relevant for Latin America and one that we are trying to lead for our industry.
As a driven, working mother, I’m extremely passionate about a strong work ethic while remaining family centric. Working with our D&I team has been such an amazing experience. I was able to help host a joint D.C. and Boston Pride event where many of us were moved to tears through touching stories and examples of how we can all be allies. I am excited to continue working with D&I to make Expedia Group a great place for everyone to work.
